Re: 20mm gatling cannon
Are you referring to the GE Vulcan 20mm?. I'm looking for somethign that's comparable to what might be mounted on a F-22 Raptor
(oh and what is the "follow up 2d" mean"? |

Re: 20mm gatling cannon
The F-22 Raptor mounts the M61A2, which I believe would use the same stats as the M61A1 described in High-Tech, except that it weighs less. The rules for follow-up effects are explained on p. 105 of Characters and p. 381 of Campaigns.

Re: 20mm gatling cannon
The A2 can supposedly be operated at an ROF of 6600 rounds per minute instead of 6000. (The lighter barrels can apparently be spun faster, along with saving weight.) Not that that's enough to make a difference in the RoF table on B373 :) Some of the aircraft either version has been used in have an option to fire at 4000 rpm, so +6 instead of +7 with the benefit of having more turns worth of ammo.
The ammo storage is different for every installation, custom-designed for that aircraft. So it's not really a stat of the weapon, but of the aircraft. The ammo itself and the barrel length is the same, so most stats will be identical. You might argue for a slightly improved Malf, since the A2 is supposed to require less maintenance, but that's probably below the level of resolution of the system. |
