With that are you not alone, same goes for a lot of people who have to sit at home and get a withdrawel from gaming.

I fear if SJG doesn´t come out soon with something or change there politics against automatic game aids, they will be to late for the party.

True, SJG isn't a big fan of automation... but for GURPS, that might not be as big of a limitation as you might think, from a programming standpoint.

In my opinion, there are as many different versions of GURPS being played, as there are GURPS GMs. And it has been said many times, "GURPS is a Toolkit".

We asked ourselves "who are we to decide how you play GURPS?" Any decision we made into "what should happen next" would invariably limit some GM who didn't want to play that way. True, there are probably some things that everyone would agree on... except there will always be that one GM who never liked that rule... ;-)

So instead, we have been focusing on making the other parts of playing GURPS easier. We have focused on making the process easier, instead of automating the process.

Things like:

The "On-the-Fly" system, which was designed so that you could enhance your own interactive character sheet (without having to program). Just enter some text (in a certain format), and when it is imported into Foundry, it will appear as a clickable button. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSSfs2Red0A

Or the Damage Calculator, which assists with the convoluted math that can occur when determining damage. Which is one of the biggest "pain points" we have heard from users ("I never used wound modifiers because it just slowed combat down too much"). Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eaCyacs4N0

True, there are things we could make "optionally" automatic (we do that already for features like encumbrance calculation), and maybe one day, we will do a bit more automation.

But I don't think SJG's reluctance to allow automation has hampered us that much. There is SO MUCH to GURPS, that we could code for the next year (or two) and still not scratch the surface of things we could help with.

Could you guys use another developer?

I'm very interested in what you've built here, and I'd like to help. GURPS and coding - I do both.

How usable is this for GURPS Dungeon Fantasy RPG (Boxed Set)? This looks really slick and it may alter my plans for which ruleset I pick for my next campaign and which VTT I plan on using.

The part which VTT is best suited for use with GURPS and has the best player base is of vital interest for me too, including the knowledge what the different systems cost in there base version. Looking araound on several computer game platform I found around a dozen established and much more, thanks to covid, running up or be in development programs.

Because were I live real tabletop sessions in GURPS are so seldom i sufffer badly from GURPS withdrawel.

Completely 100% compatible. We aren't automating any rules, so you play like you want. We just offer a nice character sheet that imports from GCA or GCS and allows you to make rolls, etc. (I down play it... we offer a lot more... but I didn't want to scare you off ;-) )

100% Awesome. I have GM'd with it at least ... 7-8 times now? It's awesome. Once I had this up and running, that was it for Roll20 and FGU--which are, themselves, very good products. I'm not slamming them. But this is so well done for GURPS, and by extension, DFRPG.

I personally only have experience with Fantasy Grounds and Foundry.

I've written code for both...and, well, I'm in love with Foundry (of course).

I believe that the Foundry framework offers more than others (built in lighting, line of sight, etc.). Although other frameworks offer these also.
I am willing to bet that our character sheet offers more functionality (especially when you include the On-the-Fly formulas). Although I am happy to lose this bet (but I don't think I will ;-) )

Foundry is $50, once. And with this, you can host your own games. If your internet isn't that great, you can rent a hosting service (usually $5/mth). Adding third party media is incredibly easy.

Fantasy Grounds Unity Ultimate license cost me $135 (I don't know what it costs now). I know they have a 'marketplace' to purchase media. I do not know how easy it is to include your own media.

Roll20 has a free-tier, and then some kind of subscription service... but I know nothing about it.

As for user base... well, you need to give us a few weeks! We just became 'legal' a few days ago.

But you can see by the testimonials here (and on the GURPS Discord: https://discord.gg/6xJBcYWyED ) that some people really like it!

I just released a new "Getting Started" video for Foundry VTT and our GURPS Game Aid (Unofficial): https://youtu.be/YstMNNLwKBM

This video should give you a good idea of how you could play GURPS on Foundry VTT.

(If you haven't looked into online gaming... now is the time!)
