I just wanted to comment on what a great job Steve Jackson and Auroch Digital have been doing.
I think that what Steve Jackson handed Auroch Digital -- a balanced game that is fun to play and with well defined rules -- made everything easier. No need to ask traditional new-game-design questions like "should we make the infantry faster?" or "should we add units that repair roads and tracks?" All those years of game designing are really paying off in this case. As for Auroch Digital, the phrase "they made a game that doesn't suck" says it all. The user interface is easy to learn but has enough power for experienced users. The graphics and sound are great. The AI is pretty good already, and getting better. The bugs are being fixed very quickly. Finally, it is very rare for the creators of a game to actually listen and participate in user forums. There are so many games where the forums are 100% players talking about bugs and desired features, with nobody who is in a position to fix the bugs or add the features listening. Good job, guys. We appreciate you. Last edited by GuyMacon; 10-21-2017 at 09:21 PM. |

I agree with everything you said. The game is a fantastic achievement. Extra bonus for the fact that they continue to make the game better.
PS - If only I could move a whole stack at once... :-) TK

Thank you for the kind words, and to everyone doing such a great job on spotting and reporting issues. It's regrettable that they exist at all, but it's testament to the fantastic community on here and the Steam forums that the overall experience is quickly becoming smoother and more enjoyable for everybody. We appreciate you too! :D |

I would like to commend the audio designer.
I really like the sound made when you X a group of Infantry -- it sounds suitably "ouchy" -- like there is a bit of a dog being kicked in there. |
