"Pretty much, but I know you're prests open portals too, and I don't have the WHOLE story."

Peter will head back once he's finished checking out the portal.

"I'm not a priest. I just keep 'em safe."

A few more questions come in when Peter returns.

That night, Peter sleeps in the acolyte's cell. He dreams of the portal he found leading out into the desert, with a band of soldiers and a priest riding out on mechanical horses, and entering the desert...

Rolling against dreaming to shift focus...a 10

Peter dreams of the divine village, with the various deities going about their work. He dreams of An-kona, who greeted him, along with others who are armed, talking about how long the "punitive expedition" is taking, and discussing how long they will have to stay. The numbers range from a few more months to several years to one person who says it might be permanent.

Rolling against dreaming to enter that world... a 14.

Peter tries to travel to the divine village, but winds up waking himself up in the accolyte's chamber he's been given.

Peter wakes up just outside the fire where An-kona is talking, maybe thirty feet away, in the shadow of a hut and out of the light. He's naked, and Goliath is with him. Its still quite dark.

Peter approaches and greets An-Kona and looks for something for his modesty.

He will explain that their subjects would like him to bring back proof they can verify so that Peter may act as an Emissary.

He will ask about the location of any gods he has questions for that the priests supplied him with and set to his mission as soon as he is able. He will also volunteer to make more furniture or do anything else he can to be of help while he is here.

"What's with you and your clothes, mortal? You're always bumming them off me. You're not going to make a habit of it, are you?"

**************************************

Most of the Gods he's been asked to talk to are there. Lets play out the conversation with one of them (and then assume the others go in a largely similar manner).

He's been asked find out from Yu-Pelor the deal he made with the chief guard of Peltastra. Yul-Pelor is a big man who seems to make a point of walking around shirtless.

Yu-Pelor: "If I made such a deal, that would be personal, now wouldn't it?"
***********************

Tar-Billik is happy to have a competent woodworker help him again. He asks Peter if he got a chance to pass on his message to his town.

"Can I trade my work for some clothes, and maybe I can just get them again when I come back... The last ones you gave me are probably at Tar-Billik's"

"I'm sorry, my friend. I passed on the message to the priest I'm working with... I don't know if it has made it back to your town yet, but when I return I'll make sure they got the message."

"You can have your clothes back... I just don't why you always loose them before you talk to me!"

"Such a detail would be irrelevant for your stated purpose, would it not?"

Thank you, I'd appreciate it a lot. I'm sure many of the Gods have asked you to deliver such messages.
