Charisma and Social Standing Points (PU-9)

Been looking at Power-Ups 9, which introduces ways to play around with the innards of GURPS, more specifically the Charisma stat. Thinking about defining Social Standing Points (clumsy name, if you have an alternative, please share), which equals Charisma + Status + Reputation -10. These points would then be used in social situations much like Impulse points - buying successes for yourself or failures for others, changing minor details in a scene, etc.

1. What do you think of this idea?

2. Do you have any ideas on what these points could be used to buy?

Seems like a nice idea when one wants to reduce the number of rolls and replace them with more deterministic resource management. I approve.

Networking basically. Any political or personal favor that is helped by "knowing someone".
