Before I Open a Door

Is there time (as in "at any time" or "at any time during your turn") before I open a door? During regulay play, can I play any cards before opening a door?

What about during setup? Can I play Items, Classes, Types, etc before player 1 starts their turn?

Yes. They are in the rules.

Under "Character Creation" you are allowed to play cards when you are dealt your initial 8 cards, before the first player starts their first turn.

You may play/equip/unequip any "Any Time" or "Your Turn" cards before you kick open the door.
