[DF5] Druidic Shapeshifting and the Animal Ally Metatrait
In DF5, each of the Animal Allies includes a line for shapeshifting. I did the math for a couple of them, and in all of those, the listed Alternate Form price is based on the template as is, including the new metatrait Animal Ally. This metatrait includes Wealth (Dead Broke) and Language (Accented/None), which I find somewhat confusing for cases of shapeshifting. Due to the way Wealth works in DF, would a change in wealth levels when shapeshifted simply imply an inability to sell anything while in animal form, or would there be other consequences? As for the Language bit, does it really make sense that once in animal form, a Druid has a reduced understanding of their native language and becomes completely unable to read it?

Re: [DF5] Druidic Shapeshifting and the Animal Ally Metatrait
The Wealth penalty is IMHO mainly there for simplicity but it also represents the limited ability as regards the use, purchase and selling of goods while in that form. Honestly I think its a bit munchkinny but there are drawbacks and cases for limited value of many advantages. Claws are less likely to be useful compered to regular melee weapons for example.
And armor. And even the temporary loss of all your personal gear is a drawback. As for the bit about language, could be a loss due to animal mental traits.
