Again, it's being developed in Unity, so porting it to other platforms should be relatively simple. Not trivial, certainly, but the entire point of Unity is to make cross-platform development less painful.

in-browser would be the worst abomination imaginable. That is the one thing that would make me not use it, and certainly not buy it. Web-based applications are a joke and never work as advertised.

I actually like the Google pseudo-Office suite, but in general I agree with you.

Never having used Steam, I have a question about the game's ongoing availability. The old version went out of print long before its platforms became obsolete. Presumably, this one will stay available until someone takes positive action to take it off Steam?

I can still download prototypes of games that never were finally produced, from a decade ago. And I just downloaded a game from my wife's shared library that I realized that I never got around to playing back in 2004.

Irrelevant since SJGames built something else but:

People have built pretty good side-scrollers for several years - certainly good enough to play Ogre. (Web-based applications remain pathetic.)

Getting paid for them doesn't seem to be a solved puzzle.

An Ogre-themed sidescroller might be fun, like Metal Slug, but most people here want to play Ogre on a computer, not just play any type of video game with Ogres in it.

Ogre on the Apple II was a side scroller (well, up-and-down, but you could tilt your monitor), pretty true to the game, and would have satisfied me just fine.

We're getting an immersive video game that just happens to have an Ogre board and Ogre rules underneath it.

Top-down turn-based hex wargames aren't side-scrollers.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what're you're trying to say here.
