They only grapple if they hit with a skill-12 Reach C attack first. And they are hardly as tough as frontline fighters should be.

Anyway, does Cleave try to break the grapples this turn?

Sure, why not... success by 0. He fails.



I mean, the point is to distract the ants, keep them chewing on a disposable minion with 6 DR, and keep them in the stone rain.



Cleave is doing a fine job.

Vic performs a feverish parry (success 12/rolled 11) and parries the enemy attack,
dealing 10 damage total after defense (rolled 7 damage-2DR *2) to the enemy's pincers.
Rolled ht+3 for the ant, it succeeded (8)
the pincer is crippled.

He'll take another wack at that ant with 6 HP ... but the ant dodges.


EDIT: stone rain damage. one ant below 0HP takes nothing, the other two below 0 HP take two damage each. The one with 9 HP left takes 5 damage. It makes its knockdown roll... stupid HPT!


Cleave will attempt to break free. He looses the quick contest by 11. But they are loosing HP and cleave is not.

Bain will wait for his friends to stand up and move, then he will attack the ants with the least punishing blast radius.

After doing the wait maneuver (so his friends move to a safe distance) Bain makes the following AOA double with DWA:

Attack 1 (ant with CLEAVE):

Fast-draw 14 (12) & Ready 14 (11), successful:
Shooting: 10 (15+3-1-3-4; DWA, acc, quick-shooting, torso, shooting into the grapple), successful.
Hide: 3D6 → 9(4 +3 +2)

Damage: 2d+4 * 3 (IMP).
Hide: 2D6 → 6(3 +3)
Injury: 18 HP after DR.

Attack 2 (ant without pincer that was with Vicious):
Fast-draw 14 (8) & Ready 14 (12), successful:
Shooting: 14 (15+3-1-3; DWA, acc, quick-shooting, vitals), successful.
Hide: 3D6 → 13(5 +5 +3)

Damage: 2d+4 * 3 (IMP).
Hide: 2D6 → 3(1 +2)
Injury: 18 HP after DR.

Attack 3 (furthest ant from Telrith with most HP):
Fast-draw 13 (9) & Ready 14 (12), successful:
Shooting: 10 (15+3-1-7; Bow, acc, quick-shooting, skull), successful.
Hide: 3D6 → 7(1 +4 +2)

Damage: 2d+4 * 3 (IMP).
Hide: 2D6 → 3(2 +1)
Injury: 20 HP after DR.
