I was under the impression the goal was to create PCs, not real life people.

Adding Computer Operations to the list of Kromm's list of skills every adventurer should have is just adding the one skill that appears on his "Everyman Skills" (Action 1, page 22) that doesn't appear on that list.

This kind of assumption is exactly why Kromm wrote that list, I think. In any case, see the inquiry of the OP. If every task in your game just relies on an Attribute roll, then there's no reason to worry over templates - or what they lack - at all. It's your game, so do whatever you want. But that's not the assumption the original post was making.

I think I need to make a short book called "The Book of Bjorn" that is 100% puns on the word Bjorn.

Bjorn Again
Bjorn to Run
Bjorn Ready
Bjorn Identity...

One of my sister's ex-boyfriends was called Björn, his father was Björn, and his father's father was Björn. I don't recall if the line was longer. So, anyway we have Björn Björnsson, son of Björn Björnsson, son of Björn.

Anyway said Björn was an idiot who couldn't find his ass even with the aid of a map, compass, and GPS. I'm glad my sister finally saw sense and found somebody else.

Yes, and not every adventurer is necessarily as skilled with operating computers as your local IT tech and as knowledgeable about the local area as your local thief.

Most people get by with defaults, and so will adventurers if those skills aren't part of what they focus on.

It has been debated to death, and I know that Kromm said otherwise (about most people using driving at default for exemple) but for some GM, myself included, if you routinely and currently use a skill, you have one cp in it.
More than 1 cp take dedication, less than one(ie default or dabbler) you have either little exposure or it was long ago.

So, you have been living somewhere for a while, 1 point in Area Knowledge.
You are driving daily to work, one point in driving.
You are using a computer at work, one point in Comp. Op.
And so on.
And I don't want to enter the dwelling of an adult living alone without one cp in housekeeping.

To each it's own, routine TDM and familiarity penalties well used mean we end up rolling against about the same numbers, we just reach them differently.
