LibertyCon is a great local con which caters to many interests, but with a focus on sci-fi and its authors. It's held at the historic Chattanooga Choo-Choo hotel. In addition to Steve Jackson, this year's guests include author David Weber and Schlock Mercenary's Howard Tayler.

The Programming Schedule includes two panels from Steve Jackson, two GURPS Mars Attacks game sessions (sneak peeks from PK), and open gaming from the whole SJG/MIB crew.

The convention went great -- better than could be expected!

• We focused heavily on Mars Attacks -- with two different GURPS Mars Attacks adventures along with frequent demos of the two dice games -- and everyone who played absolutely loved them.

• We got to play some games of Munchkin Steampunk -- both the prototype and the not-yet-available actual set. This one is especially fun and the Foglio artwork is sublime.

• We auctioned off two appearances on Munchkin cards, for charity, and set a new LibertyCon record! Each card appearance went for $700, beating the previous record set by David Weber. (And Rev. Bob helped the family who won one auction come up with a card idea and game mechanic that fit just what the kids wanted.)

• I had a chance to sit down with Steve and wrap up some little loose ends involving GURPS stuff, so consider that a win for keeping our release pipeline greased. (Sorry, still have steampunk on the brain!)

• Maybe the most important thing, we had fun.
