I was hoping so. I stole it straight from the Mahabharata.

Archer's Trance is Targeting Vision + Eye for Distance.

Might want to drop out Eye for Distance, because Kromm clarified that it does not provide a +3 of a precise rangefinder.

Applicability in noncombat situations where you're not planning to shoot what you're looking at. It's kind of a side effect that's being made explicit.

The fact that Eye for Distance doesn't provide that +3 hardly means it can't be included in a more costly ability that does.

Except that the more costly ability seems to include everything that Eye for Distance does, making it somewhat pointless.

Nothing says Targeting Vision doesn't work in non-combat situations. If you can gauge the exact range and speed in a stressful combat situation, why wouldn't you be able to gauge it in a non-combat situation?

I'm looking back at Kromm's comments, and I understood him to be saying that I should add Eye for Distance to the build. Rereading the comment he made, I can see that he could have meant that if you had the basic trait you would automatically have Eye for Distance too. But that interpretation of what he wrote never even occurred to me. So now I'm not sure what he meant: If having Targeting automatically gives you the benefits of Eye for Distance or if those benefits are a side effect that should be paid for separately.

However, you should not take anything after that as applying to "you' as the third person singular but rather being the third person plural, applying to multiple persons and with differing levels of intensity. The acceptance of "you-all" as the third person plural might make English a more precise language. :)

charts for hearing and vision, examples and snippets on various uses (like braile and speed reading) and of course new senses and expansions on them. I pretty much expected it to also include a hierarchy or alignment of modifiers like the angle and Detect ones such as targeting, analysis, etc. I had a different base cost for using normal senses but like this one better (simpler). The bonus material was just how many animal senses were covered and I especially liked the targeting ears and lateral lines. I was less happy with supernatural senses and detects getting short shrift but accept the reasoning and I wish there could have been an optional rules section for things like Penetrating Vision but knew it was very unlikely. And your last but, apparently your not from the South :)
