Default Hows Laurence react to finding he gave a foolish order?

How would Laurence likely React fo finding he gave a foolish order, especialy considering his dissonance condition?

would it be safe to say he'd probaly just be quick to offer to remove dissonance, or to mend a heart... though someones heart cracking under dissonance would probaly draw his attention, as a bad sign, even if his order had been foolish

but while he might grudingly concede the command was foolish he isnt going to be tearfully apolagetic.

I'm pretty sure the angel would obey the order, foolish or not, and thus get no dissonance. After all, maybe Laurence is asking for an apparently foolish thing as part of a larger, more sensible plan!

And you're right--I don't see tears coming from that guy. Plaudits for the angel's unwavering trust and a reminder that even archangels aren't perfect, but I'm not sure he'd make a direct apology unless the result was very grave.

For Laurence's orders to be demonstrably foolish, someone would actually need to follow them. So no, Lawrence is unlikely to let someone off the hook for defying an order.

However, if they follow the order and everything still goes pear shaped then yes, he probably would take ownership of his mistake. This might involve a formal apology, and possibly even a Rite or Distinction if the angel in question voiced their concerns to Lawrence ahead of time but still followed the orders once confirmed.

If Lawrence's judgement was seriously in error, he might even be prepared to allow the servitor to transfer service to another Superior with Rites, Resonance, and Distinctions intact, even if he does not normally get along with the chosen superior.

I agree that tears are an unlikely outcome, as is begging for forgiveness.

Hmmmn fair points... oh it says in the angelic players guide that "When he's invoked, it had better be for a very good reason"

think that an unanticipated snag where continuing to follow orders that were originally sound, would be considered a very good reason by him?

It referenced such situations leading to a number of falls in the superiors book on him.

Depends on how big a "snag" it is, and if the PCs can work around it themselves if they give it a bit of thought, I'd say...
