[New Release] GURPS Power-Ups 5: Impulse Buys
As a managing editor for an online store, I'm not supposed to play favorites . . . and, really, I don't.
However, I will say -- with complete objectivity -- that Power-Ups 5: Impulse Buys is one of the coolest freakin' supplements I've ever seen! Spend character points to alter fate, recharge your inner reserves, get some cash, change the world, and more. Plus it gives extensive campaign advice for what these options mean for your campaign, and what kind of effects work best in which campaigns. Really, if you ever wanted to see the possibilities of a GURPS game blow right open, you need this Sean Punch-written supplement. Because if you die with unspent character points, you simply weren't trying hard enough . . . |

I have a feeling the ideas in this book are going to scare off a lot of GURPS players. But for those that don't run screaming, Impulse Buys arguably opens the system up more than any other supplement ever has. Shifting narrative control into the players' hands -- at a reasonably high price -- allows for a style of play that's unique, yet still remains very true to the fundamentals of GURPS.

I guess having the Impulsiveness and Compulsive Spending12 disadvantages are not good for keeping my money in the bank. I just missed that 12 by this much… |_| :)

I got it and had a quick flick through. It looks great! My players spend points on success all the time, so they're going to love the extra options this book gives them. There are some optional rules here that could put a whole new spin on your game!
