We have settled (at least for now) on a fantasy Renaissance spy/conspiracy campaign. More to come as it takes shape.

Read The Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger.

I know you've settled on something already, but here's my take on the issue.

I look at my Goodreads shelf of Read books & find the last novel or series that I loved & try to build a workable campaign inspired by that novel/series. Over time, I've built up a list of possible campaigns (& the written up synopsis for it) inspired by some novel/series that I can hand off to players to vote on. Then we play that, because, since I already loved the novel/series, I'm probably going to like running that game.

As for the game you've settled on...do you happen to own all of the GURPS Renaissance Venice series? Especially Spies of Venice? I feel like that would make great reading for that game, as well as the various recommended reads within.

After a discussion with the crew, we came full circle to an idea I had shelved some time ago for a cyberpunk campaign. There was a bit of shared fantasy fatigue that nobody wanted to express because everybody thought everybody else wanted fantasy. Because I kept all the files I created for my never launched game, much of the work in getting the game together is already done.

Care to enlighten us Plebs with your Cyberpunk ideas?...no pressure, just curious.

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it publicly.

He's aired some of them in a thread in the GURPS forum.

We just finished some planning discussion. I expect I'll be posting some details somewhere. I'll update this thread when I do.
