(IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]

He does not have to wait long. A door opens up, and two security run towards the door on foot. one has riffle with an oversized barrel, the other seems to have an assault riffle. A big garage door opens, and a truck drives towards them.



Speakers blare out: "Shut the door and put your hands on your head! Walk slowly towards towards the main facility!"

Peter complies and pushes the door shut and turns around.

"Don't shoot!"

He puts his hands on his head.

"Hey boy, look here!" he says to Goliath.

"Good boy! Gentle!" he says with a toothless smile trying to keep the dog calm in all the commotion.

They run up to Peter as his group."



"You're under arrest for trespassing and reckless endangerment! We will be investigating you for vandalism, theft, and corporate espionage. You're in big trouble kids"


Unless resistance is offered, they will handcuff Peter and the girl, and put them in the cages in the back of the truck. Goliath tries to follow Peter in: they try to put him in a seperate cage.

Peter offers no resistance. "Where am I? This girl was just born here. I found her in a room where four guys were beating up on another guy, and we were running away."

"Save your story!" They lock the cage door and walk away.



The truck drives about a half mile to the end of the middle area between the fence and the wall. Peter is taken inside the building, and placed inside a small room with no windows and only one door. He remains cuffed. There is not light switch, and the lights come from strips in the ceiling. The floor is a rough sort of carpet, and the walls seem to be solid cement with a heavy layer of grey paint. The door has a small flap in it.



He doesn't know where they put Goliath or the Girl.

Peter will try and take a nap and see if he can dream his way out of here.

Peter sleeps but does not dream. When he wakes up, there is a sort of cold sandwich and the floor.

If he picks it up, he'll see a note scribbled on the side of it in some sort of edible ink. "If you gave her a purpose, sit near the door. We can help you."

Shortly afterwards two security men come in to cuff him and escort him down to an office. The office's walls are screens depicting a pleasant beach. The furniture looks like its carved wood. The room looks large enough to hold a conference in, but its only holds one man's furniture. In fact, the room looks super sparse. Like it never gets used.

The man is wearing a Suit, of sorts. It has a shimmering blue sheen, and the sleaves are almost skin tight. The man has a goatee, and hair artfully swooshing into the air.

"You're an interesting specimen. I can find no files on your DNA. Its quite strange. You turn up inside this facility at the same time we finally capture a noted and persistent saboteur, with some of our product in tow. I cannot afford to let you go. Even with the deepest assurances, its just too much. But I am curious. You're not a citizen, and you're not on any of our files, but you do have some unique DNA features, so who made you? And for what purpose?"

Peter eats the parts of the sandwich without writing.


Peter evaluates the man and feels him out... Is he more anxious or curious?

"I'm not from around here. I'm kind of lost. I found that girl and she was scared and followed me. I was going to leave, but I didn't want to put her in danger."

He flashes his Disarming Smile.

"What's weird about my DNA? I was born, not decanted or something... Would that explain it? I'd love to use your sleep-learning tech for my crappy algebra if it would work."

Right, empathy... Intensely curious. And weirdly greedy excited. He thinks Peter can be manipulated.

"I'm not from around here. I'm kind of lost. I found that girl and she was scared and followed me. I was going to leave, but I didn't want to put her in danger."

"Come now, come now, we both know that's a lie. We cook up custom bioroids for the wealthy, and you sneak in to try to disrupt our operation. I suspect you're a bioroid yourself, after a fashion. Not one of ours though. Were you hoping to find home?"

He flashes his Disarming Smile.

"What's weird about my DNA? I was born, not decanted or something... Would that explain it? I'd love to use your sleep-learning tech for my crappy algebra if it would work."

"People don't have memories of being born. That said, scans do point towards you being developed in a biowomb of some sort, possibly even in a live surrogate. so you probably can't use our dream-world training, and we don't have any programs for algebra. Get a computer to do it for you."



"Your DNA is... you have a fairly large section of abnormal DNA. An extra 10% on chromosome 5. We're not sure what it does. So who raised you? what kind of people? A creche? Millionaires? A Researcher? the Military?"

Peter will stick the "note" under the bed. He sits by the door, even though he did not give her a purpose.

"Nope, I speak the truth!" Peter presses his thumb to his pinky and holds up three fingers as he says this,

"No, I'll get home eventually. I'll just lurk around here for a while before I move on."

"Of course I don't have memories of being born, but I was raised in the suburbs with my parents. I WISH they were millionaires! ...What's a creche?"
