There seem to be doors along the near edge of the wall (the thugs coming back are directly between you and the nearest door, but moving away from it), and far off at the ends of the room.
The thugs get closer to each other. The one with the pistol fires several shots at the karana creatures. One hit gets lucky and hits one*. Bullets don't work especially well against karana creatures... hopefully he didn't notice the smoke. It will bleed out in a little under two minutes. (*really nice NPC rolling there... most rolls are at 5 yards vs a SM -3 target and no chance to aim) The prisoner is restrained by some variation on duct tape, fastening him to the chair.... the dinosaur is able to slip* within one of the nearby cabinets. Its three yards away from the prisoner... but the two thugs are two yards away from the prisoner. Does Peter have a skill useful for drawing away the thugs from the prisoner? (*It rolled an 8 on stealth! who knows what the thugs rolled) OCC: is that the third version of that post I've seen?

A skill for drawing them away? I can't imagine what that skill might be another than tactics... Peter does not have tactics, but he knows chess at 12 so there are some gambits rattling around that might help... He can use the uninjured pair of compies that are not in hiding to make noises and crashes close enough to them to perhaps draw them out and dash away, making the sacrifice play if needed to get their attention long enough for the posse to make it out the door. If they are drawn away, the compy in hiding can cut the tape and lead the prisoner out to join the group.
(I know I deleted and it updated it once. I had some unnecessary whining I decided you didn't need :P - if I did it a second time it was a quick edit...) |

Then the smoking one will stay out of sight making distracting noises while two harry the guards closest to the prisoner to draw them off/distract them while the last compy frees the prisoner and leads him toward Peter's group as they try and escape the building.

Peter has five little dinosaurs.
One of them goes by the two thugs returning and ferociously hisses from behind a tank. Those two thugs move at slow walk, weapons out, looking for a target. Three of the dinosaurs charge the thugs by the prisoner, each from a different direction. The one with the club spots his dinosaur and shots "ones coming!" The thug with the gun spins and fires at the compy. The gun is much much louder than the pistol that went off before. The burst of three shots misses. The thug raises his tool as the compy approaches, but the compy darts under a table at the last moment. The man with the gun was too distracted shooting at the compy going for his friend to see the two running at himself. (he rolled 15 on his perception...). The two small dinosaurs each launch themselves at his legs: one of them hits, and the man shouts. The thug with the wrench moves towards his friend, keeping an eye on the compy under the table... which strikes out at him just enough to provoke a swing... which hits (crappy dodge roll by the compy despite commited attack). The compy topples over, but gets up after the hit(1 HP left). The riffle in the thugs hand isn't great for shooting at ankle biters already on the ankle. The man swings his foot around, trying to get the compy on it off. The little dinosaur hangs on, worrying away at the foot, and draws quite a lot of blood. The other compy seizes the previously stationary foot. The thug with the riffle tries to kick one compy into the other, but the attempt fails. He's shouting and making a LOT of noise. The two who were walking back to the group pick up their speed to a run. The thug in the prisoner area with a heavy tool swings at a compy on the leg, but the compy slides out of the way. The two each draw a bit more blood on the legs. The injured compy is back on its feet. During all this, the last compy has darted to the prisoner and freed his hands... though at the cost of taking a chunk out of one hand. The chest and legs are still taped to the chair. The prisoner arches forward to look at his hands. He's staring at them. I'll let Peter take any actions he wants to or giving additional orders. There has been some crazy rolling here.

Peter tells his creations to harm the men as little as possible. They are meant to be distracted and led away, not disabled. (He wants them to be told they're being childish at the medic station getting minor bandaging, not needing lots of stitches and potentially reconstructive surgery...)
No other orders... Peter just continues to try and keep his group hidden and to find an exit. |

The Prisoner finally seems to come to an understanding about what's going on as the small theropod moves to his remaining leg. The double teamed man tries to thrash the compy's on his leg some more, but his TERRIBLE run of luck continues. The tripped thug recovers from his fall. The new thugs round the corner, and see the mess... including the prisoner. The "freedom" compy misses the tape on the last chair leg.

They can run by, zig-zag around and throw harmless objects off of shelves... that sort of thing. ---- If the prisoner finishes getting free, his savior-compy can lead him to us... otherwise, he's on his own. Peter did what he could. ---- Peter has the first smoking compy check the tanks to see if they are capable of opening them... Are the tanks labeled? Might have to have my compies scatter and start opening tanks... |

They can try and run interference for a few more moments to try and help the prisoner get away. Best the smoking ones get out of sight tho. If the prisoner escapes, any remaining copies will lead him to Peter if they are not being immediately pursued. |
