Multiple Levels from Combat

Hi, I have another question, I think I'm right in saying this.

When your fighting say, a group of 3 monsters and each one has 1 Level printed on the card. When you win the fight you only gain 1 level for defeating the group?
I take it that this is correct and you do not gain 3 levels 1 for each monster.

You get the level(s) for each monster you defeat.

Ah OK.

So there should have been a 3 level increase for the "Active" Munchkin.
