OK, this seems to where we're going:

Cat People Question II

Which type of catfolk should I start a set of Questions on? (List based on the responses to Cat People Question I.)

1. Humanoid Cats (e.g. Star Trek's Caitians, GURPS Basic Felinoids, or GURPS DF Cat-Folk; generally SM 0)

2. Anime/Manga Catpeople (basically humans with cat ears (usually atop the head, may also have normal human ears) and a tail, possibly cat eyes and fangs, as well as some cat-like abilities and/or behaviors; often a racial or cultural tendency toward revealing clothes or No Nudity Taboo; generally SM 0)

3. Large (SM-3) domestic cats with opposable thumbs and reasonably high intelligence (IQ 8ish).

4. Smallish cat-folk closely resembling the Felynes, Melynxes, and Grimalkynes of the Monster Hunter video game series (apparently SM-2 or -3).

5. Basically like Honorverse treecats, also being SM-3.

6. Felitaurs (Centauroid catfolk resembling small wemics; SM-1 at full length, but having a standing height closer to SM-3)

7. Something else (please specify).

Please remember to include the number of your preferred option when you vote.

Two. In Gurps, cat-girls are mandatory.

#1 is pretty good, but my vote is for a #7 (sm -1 or -2) cat looking creatures with opposable thumbs, and simi bipedial, with an IQ of around 9 or 10.

Poll remains open, especially as not many have voted, yet. So far, 2 is winning, but only two votes to one.

OK, since we do seem to be leaning toward nekomimi/cat-eared near-humans, I'm going to create a couple of templates to choose from for the next Question, and if anyone else wants to make one before that question is posted, I'll add it to the list. This will be the cheaper one:

Minimalist Nekomimi, [10 points]

Secondary Characteristics

Per+2 [10]

Advantages

Acute Hearing 2 [4]
Flexibility [5]
Night Vision 2 [2]

Perks

Autotrance. [1]
Penetrating Voice. [1]

Features: Catlike ears, Small Fangs [0].

Disadvantages

Laziness [-10]

Quirks

No Nudity Taboo. [-1]
Nosy. [-1]
Proud. [-1]

I had to look it up to find out that Nosy was the Quirk version of curious but it is a good choice. I'd nominate Proud instead of Careful though. Not only do all cats believe they are in charge wherever they are, Careful is somewhat at odds with Nosy.

Yeah, probably. Made a couple of edits, have another look, please.

I don't know about the perks and think there might be too many "roleplaying" disadvantages and quirks. I'm not sure about blanket perception either; cat's have lousy visual acuity; maybe improved hearing should be the key thing? Especially if these are "double eared" nekos (Human ears on the side, cat ears on top, combining directional hearing with general hearing).
