Movement Phaser order?

When it comes to the movement phase of your turn, do you need to do it in order as the directions list (explore, combat, deal search)
For example. If I start in an empty room, can I search it, then explore, kill that monster, search the new room, then move to another room and search that? Of course this scenario is assuming I have the "moves"
