Short answer: because the models are skinny.

Aiko, the model I use most, is designed to be an anime character. Most of the morphs and characters for her make her look like a teen. There are a few that make her look older, but usually, she comes across looking like a kid.
Ingenue Vicky (not pictured) has practically no content and is a Vicky model to look like a teen girl.
Laura is the Millenium Girl, and I don't have much use, or content, for her at the moment.
Vicky 3 is designed to be a super model. And, to be honest, she's a pain to work with.
Vicky 4 has a more natural body, but, as she's new, there isn't a whole lot of content out for her.
I don't have Stephanie Petite or any of the other female figures. Oddly enough, I actually have more male models than female ones: M3, D3, Hiro, Luke, Freak, Behemoth vs. A3, IV, Laura, V3 and V4.

I suspected it was something like that. No reflection on you; your work with those models is awesome (and I endorse the pervasiveness of purple in your costuming). I might ask for 3D renderings of a few of my characters when I have spare cash to give you for your troubles. :)

Probably because most anime female characters look like teens...if that.

They look like tweens, it wouldn't be so bad if they looked like teens.

At the moment, I wouldn't think of asking for money. If you have a request you can post it here in the thread (or PM, but your's doesn't work, per your .sig) and when I have time I can see about making the image for you.

That's true, however, the problem actually comes from the model-building community. A lot of builders tend to use Aiko to make 'tween-to-teen girls. There are a few "adult" bodies for Aiko, and I've been trying to collect them (so long as the faces are attractive to me).

This is a very young face put on a very mature body. The hips and breasts are definately not a tween's, but the face would make most people think she's somewhere from 12-14.

That, to me, has always been in the eye of the beholder. I mean, yeah, Lil Red was supposed to look like she was 14 and some of those later images were simply out there to make some people shudder at themselves. And be very thankful that she's wearing that cloak . . .. The image of Bluefire always looked to me like a young woman, not a teen or tween. Maybe a teen in the 18-19 range, but not much more than that. Her face was not quite right for a teen's. And Anastasia was also supposed to look like a young woman, somewhere in her late teens, as opposed to her original, 14-ish look (time has passed, the character is growing up; that's also the oldest picture of mine I'm ever going to post).

Yeah, okay, that one is truly wrong, you win.

Well, even with her big eyes the younger Anastasia looks like a young teen, the older Anastasia looks like an actual adult and is really well done by the by.

On the other hand, both Lil Red and Bluefire look like young teens, maybe 14-16, and after your above example I'll stop calling them tweens, I don't need you to prove me further wrong in that direction.

I hadn't posted that one because, well, yeah, it's wrong. She's got this really nice body and then you get to her face . . . she's got a really cute, pretty face . . . for a tween . . ..
I was just trying out that outfit and body, and just happened to put the wrong head on it. I wasn't planning on posting it, but it made a good example.

The Ana with the rose is supposed to look like a young girl. The standing Ana is supposed to look like the younger one enough to say "yeah, that could be her" but still look like she's grown up.

What about Bluefire makes her look like a young teen to you? I want to know so I can "correct" it. She's supposed to look young-ish (more of that "ish" word Kromm dislikes), but more adult than child. I want her age to be a little ambiguous, but when someone sees her, I want them to say "yeah, she could be 18-20."

The eyes are too big while the lips are very small; very anime-ish, very babyish.
The hips are too narrow.
Those are the two main things that make her look younger than you intend, as far as I'm concerned. Maybe others have different reasons.

I asked the wife to comment too, but for me it's the forehead/eyes combination, both too big.
Then her boyish hips makes it look like she's barely hitting puberty along with the shadows which make it seem like folds of baby fat in her crotch.

Aiko's five-head is something I fight with a lot, so I pretty much don't notice that. But, it is noted.

Points taken. I'll have to see about widening her hips. That should help with both problems.

I have another version of the picture that my sister calls "drafty." I can't post it since this is a family board. But, that was when I discovered that "outfit" she's wearing doesn't actually follow her pelvis, nor is it connected to the back from the bottom.

"Heaven forbid she meet a friendly dog!" as my sister put it.
