This appeared in the Los Angeles Times, so it must be true!

Did Strange People Live Under Site of Los Angeles 5000 Years Ago?

Quote:
Busy Los Angeles, although little realizing it in the hustle and bustle of modern existence, stands above a lost city of catacombs filled with incalculable treasure and imperishable records of a race of humans further advanced intellectually and scientifically than even the highest type of present day peoples, in the belief of G. Warren Shufelt, geophysical mining engineer now engaged in an attempt to wrest from the lost city deep in the earth below Fort Moore Hill the secrets of the Lizard People of legendary fame in the medicine lodges of the American Indian.
Look, it's got a map! If one of you hasn't written this up and used it in a game session by this time next week I'm taking up another hobby.

I used the Lizard People of L.A. years and years ago, does it still count?

Are they connected to Kinkaid's city under the Grand Canyon?

(Thank you, Ken Hite!)

That. The story has its strange elements, but you have to squint to see the really outré weirdness.

The ship has a blog about it http://whereisorlova.com/ . The author has stories on other derelict ships. One that is gaming friendly is

What struck me when I read that article (no it was another one) was that the Canadians had had contact with the hulk and diverted it from their waters, and they didn't think of putting a beacon aboard it?!?

I know you shouldn't attribute to sinister ulterior motives that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, sloth or penny-pinching, but still I have to ask, who paid the Canadians in question to "forget" about that and to put a secret beacon aboard, and what are they planning to do with the hulk?

Incidentally, if there is a lot of rats that eat each other, soon there won't be a lot of rats left.

Normally, yes. But nevertheless, there's that ship full of rats eating each other, for years. Stranger and stranger...

On the cannibal rats aspect of the story.

Anybody who has ever raised mice or rats for food for reptiles or ferrets is well aware of their tendency to eat one another when over crowded. This appears to be more of the all to common poor research sensational type reporting.
