Would any future titles in this line go for more recent stuff that didn't work or ideas about the universe that were wrong?

Yes, the point was raised! :)
Ironic then that this was the only place in the book where I felt there was a lack of precision. Count me as one of those people who "care about and point out the facts during reviews" I guess. Perhaps it would have been more precisionist to suggest something like, "While there are a number of things today that are referred to as transparent aluminum, elemental aluminum transparent to visible wavelengths is sci-fi." ; )

Oh, it's you! These forum pseudonyms throw me off. Great work, you're awesome.

The page for the Fantasy-Tech "series" says pre-industrial. However, I'd offer very good odds on the proposition that SJ Games would be delighted to publish a more modern-flavored (steampunk, orgone, phrenology, peach pits curing cancer, etc.) "weird tech" book or books, under some other title if not this one.

The only reason they call that material "transparent aluminum" and not "super-glass" or something, is because of popular culture sci-fi. It's not a "fake invention of the far future" it's merely named after a "fake invention of the far future".

Looks like they're both DF products, based on the May GURPS news:

Plenty more Dungeon Fantasy projects are in various stages of development. We currently have a final draft from Peter V. Dell'Orto, a first draft from Matt Riggsby, two more first drafts in progress (one by Peter and y.t., the other by y.t. alone), and an outline for yet another item by Matt.

Totally...well that and it's mostly aluminum instead of the many other things (including possibly aluminum) that stuff called glass may be made of.

Now here's a question. How many of these gimmicks could we stuff into a single world?
