Blind Teleport into a Wall
What happens in this circumstance?
Specifically asking about what happens when someone with Warp with the Blind enhancement or Blind Only limitation selects a set of coordinates that is already occupied. Is it treated as an automatic failure? Critical failure? Does it just put you at the nearest valid location? Is there some kind of damage roll? Something else? |

I don't know if there's a set rule for this, but it depends on how lethal you want it to be. I would say you are teleported to the wall, take damage equal to the HP of the wall, and then returned to your place of origin.

I'd go for a non-lethal option myself. A Power that will kill its' possessor on a bad die roll is a lot like Terminally Ill. It's not a question "if" a cersain number will come on the dice. It's only how long will it be before it happens on average?

Ok. Body Sense roll. If you succeed, you are returned to sender with no damage. Otherwise take damage equal to margin of failure (2d on critical failure)?

Re: Blind Teleport into a Wall
I'd either have it result in a failure or send you to the nearest applicable space. Occupying the same space as something else is likely to cause catastrophic damage* to both the teleporter and the destination (or do some weird things related to ultra-dense materials) - Warp shouldn't let you instantly kill the Big Bad, even if doing so will kill you as well (and, of course, builds with Unkillable 2+ and such a Warp would be problematic, and don't even get me started on an exoteleporter with such a capability...).
*Offhand, I'd say you determine how much crushing damage each subject would need to reach -10xHP; whichever number is lower, both subjects take that amount of damage, reducing the less-resilient to rubble or a greasy smear, and leaving the more-resilient likely in poor condition.

Re: Blind Teleport into a Wall
Hm. If there's no specific rule, I guess I'll borrow the off-by-1 effect from the Teleport spell (1d damage and physical stun) combined with being returned to your point of origin instead of going anywhere.
That's roughly equivalent to slamming yourself into the wall at Move 10 (1d damage if you have 10 HP) and then bouncing off. You're just doing it from some crazy four-dimensional angle or something. That seem fair? |

You have a reference for that? I can't find it.
