Breakthrough question from Battlefields

I just got done playing breakthrough using my battlefields box. In the GEV pocket box rules for the same scenario, it’s specifies that GEV‘s escaping the north edge of the map are worth eight victory points; however, the number of victory points is not specified in the scenario book in battlefields so, is it still OK to use 8 victory points for an escaped unit?
