Everything will turn cannibal in the right circumstances. That is not news.

Default Mysterious S-shape on weather radar. 100-mile-long flying snake?

Weather radar in Perth, Western Australia, showed an enormous anomaly, a sinuous, S-shaped feature about thirty kilometres east-to-west and the same north-to-south. The Bureau of Meteorology says it's not weather. The Department of Defence hasn't answered yet. I'm betting on a loop of the Midgard Serpent or some other ouroboros.

And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, it ensnared another bearer.

The strange fortune teller only gave one portent.
"The ring would be found only after their marriage had taken root." Oh how they misunderstood.

That's a shot from the Serpentine Radar, isn't it? Nominal influence? A bit of like begets like?

The people of the Land were terribly disappointed when the legendary White Gold Wielder turned out to be a root vegetable...

Defence has 'fessed up. It's an RAN ship on a training exercise.

At least Thomas Carotene the Un-be-leafer is a lot less whiny than that other guy.

Yes, entirely expected. Just a routine exercise. Nothing to see here. Say, how 'bout that Torah Bright, eh?

Ordos: The biggest ghost town in China
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17390729

A coal rush in Inner Mongolia prompts the construction of an instant town, but the bursting of the housing bubble leaves the town, built for a population of tens of thousands, half-built and deserted.
