Default The Citadel at Nordvorn: a Dungeon Fantasy RPG setting

The Citadel at Noršvorn is a mini-setting for the Dungeon Fantasy RPG. It consists of three major settlements, many small villages, at least one ruin, and two primary sources of conflict: The Hunted Lands to the northwest of The Palisade, and the Endalaus Forest, to the north and east of Audreyn's Wall.

Return to Noršlond, a Viking-flavored world with its own history, culture, and expectations. Visit as an outsider, or fresh from a victory rediscovering the Hall of Judgment.

It is intended for starting Dungeon Fantasy RPG characters of 250 points. At that level, they will be major players.

However, unlike Hall of Judgment, the nature of the setting makes it very appropriate for Dungeon Fantasy and GURPS Fantasy as well. Most of the book thus far (and the draft spans 105 laid-out pages even without any art whatsoever) is effectively systemless, consisting of descriptions of what's what, without statlines. In whole or in part, it is easily adapted to lower power levels or other systems of magic. There is a large part of the adventure that is very much not geared around killing monsters and taking their stuff, and as the layout preview shows, many of the locations to be explored happen in cities and towns, each of which gets a detailed treatment.

It will be available internationally in both print and PDF.

I hope you'll join in taking the project over the top - much more so than Hall of Judgment, this setting will appeal to those beyond the (excellent) Dungeon Fantasy RPG. If nothing else, take the time to read Sean Punch's excellent Foreword, contributed to the book.

This is great news! I'm looking forward to supporting this and any additional work by you!

A northlands setting is one that virtually every campaign setting needs and can support. I especially like that this promises to be more adaptable to non-DFRPG settings.

Backed. Even though I'm not currently running a fantasy game, the more GURPS related stuff in print, the better.

Thanks guys. Just for giggles, at the current PDF:Bundle rate, we'll fund at about 425 backers (neglecting those selecting higher tiers deliberately), and the "128 pages plus offset print run" happens at a whopping 817. Hall of Judgment had 525, and had hit $6566 by the end of Day 2.

Day 2 Update, and a design template for the cover.

It's less to "wow!" you with an amazing field of mustard (though I suppose it might make some folks hungry), as to show that the artists that will be making Noršvorn, Ainferill, and Longbru come to life will be working with full knowledge of what goes in front of their work, to enable better composition.
