Do the cat and parrot already pay proper respects to each other? 'Cause Kromm might end up forced to take sides....

Why on earth would you want a 3d model of a book on your computer when you can have an interactive database? It's like getting on a train, holding your luggages and pacing the duration of the trip.
Probably because the PDFs are a plausible goal. A fully interactive, full-text database with online mapping, chat, etc. would represent multiple person-years of effort. The labor alone would cost over half a million bucks, and then there's the material resources, licensing fees, etc. to handle software development (because we don't do that in house). If you want an edition upgrade as part of that, add more years and dollars. On top of that, there's the lost sales of new products (all our GURPS staff would be too busy for that) and customers lost because nothing is coming out . . . Based on current GURPS sales, we'd have to count on every remaining fan of the system to put in hundreds of dollars to justify the expense, and that doesn't seem terribly likely.

That would be somewhat more realistic. If you mean "as an integrated mega-volume," though, that would still take me out of the loop for a while. Slamming everything together in a logical way would be an epic labor.

(FYI, the parrot passed away some years ago.)

Did anyone call dibs on writing it yet?

No?

Sorry about that. I know that it can be difficult to be reminded of the death of a beloved pet.

I don't think integration would be a major improvement. I was thinking more of a boxed set.

Well, this thread got me to look up the Wikipedia plot summary of Zardoz. And I'm now keen to contribute to a Kickstarter to make sure SJG never does GURPS Zardoz. The reward levels might be something like this:

$1: Our thanks, and emotional reassurance that there will never be a GURPS Zardoz.

$10: A PDF document in which SJG undertakes never to do GURPS Zardoz, and to refund your money if they do.

$25: The document, plus an MP3 of Steve Jackson shouting "Hell, No!" or such a phrase as he feels appropriate.

Zardoz isn't even the funny kind of bad. GURPS Sonichu I could get behind.

In my case, genuine. I saw that movie edited, and it made no sense, but it looked cool. Then I finally saw it unedited (on WGBH's "Movie Night") and it made sense and really cool.

I own it on DVD. Heck, I own the novelization.

The point of GURPS Zardoz isn't to play the darn movie. It's to play in the world of Zardoz, where Sean Connery in an orange diaper and others also in orange diapers get guns from a floating head and keep the riffraff in line. It's Rifts on LSD.
