Rules question

I couldnt locate this anywhere, and I am wondering if it was a house rule my friend had made up as the rules did not specify.

When you kick down the door and get cursed by the card you flip face up. Can you still continue your turn as normal IE fight a monster from the hand, or draw a face down door card?

A Curse is not a monster, so you can Look For Trouble or Loot The Room, just like the rules say.
