Default Potion of apathy

Does the potion of apathy returns all cards been played or only ones for helping the munchkin after joining the helper?

Here is the situation my party has faced.
Player A fights the monsters. Player B screws up his game making monsters extraordinary strong and laughing hysterically. Player A miserably asks Player B to help him but Players C and D in shiny armor add more and more stuff to aid poor monsters and A&B have nothing to do but escape. Then Player B plays potion of apathy on himself (before Player A decides to escape of course). Does Player B gets all the cards he has played?

There's a pesky word which is making it hard to decide: "in." Yup, "in." But, I'm going to stick my neck out on this one and say that only the cards played while Player B was an actual helper would get returned since those would be the cards he played "in" the combat, as opposed to simply "on" or "during."

Hm, I've imagined a combo with Transferral potion.

Player A faces the monsters, uses Transferral potion. Player B now fights them and is about to lose them. He asks Player A to help him. When the combat is almost over, somebody uses Potion of Apathy on Player A. Technically, Player A used Transferral potion IN this combat, so all cards he played should return to him including Transferral potion. And the combat now transferred to Player A.
1) Is it legal to do so?
2) If it's legal, will Player B stay in the combat?
3) Potion of Apathy was played on Player A, so he can't help in this combat. But Player B still can help him, can't he?

When the combat shifted, the combat essentially restarted in its current state with the new player. Transferral Potion gets discarded and does not get returned (and therefore canceled) when Player A is affected by Potion of Apathy.

The cards helper gets back, go back to where he had them or all those cards go now at his hand? (like with Restraining Order http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=7449&page=2)

Where they were before they were played.
