like this you can jump from classic munchkin to munchkin bites for example and then take your vampire elf into space munchkin.
I like this idea. Definitely an interesting way of playing a Blender style game. Just for the sake of it, I think I'd add two rules to that, myself, not sure how these sound to you:
  1. One whole round of turns needs to go by before the variant can be changed again, so everyone will have at least 1 turn to play with the current variant. After which, anyone will be able to change the variant if they wish.
  2. No variant can be used multiple times unless every variant has been used the same amount of times. So if you're playing with 5 variants, and 3 of them have been used, you must play the other 2 before you can switch back to a previous one. Then once they've all been used twice, you can start using each one a third time, and so on.

I actually really like this one too. It's also a little harder to get cards from variants other than your own, unless you help in combat, conduct trades, or use cards that steal. One thing I'd try for this one though concerns the discard piles. I'd make sure to keep the discard piles for each variant seperate, but they're still considered part of the overall discard (one overall Door discard, one overall Treasure discard). So any card that has anything to do with a discard pile can be applied to any applicable discard pile that you'd like. This kind of works with your "Money Changes the World" variant as well. It's mostly just to keep the cards from getting horrifically mixed up, unless you don't care that much about sorting them back out later. :P

I actually posted a house rule for this one: I allow the Brain to use any item that is class-limited (like any Mutant-only item or Warrior-only). Not the best Class in the world, but at least better than what it has becomed. Of course, a Super Munchkin Brain with another class keeps having the advantadges but none of the disadvantages of the other class.

i like the rules you proposed and will try them out, i actually like to sort my card after a chaotic game; i find that very soothing.

if anyone gets a chance to try out my rules please let me know how it worked out.

Last night when I was trying to get to sleep, I had an odd thought that is either pure brilliance brought about by a resting mind or pure stupidity brought about by a half asleep mind. Munchkin Nirvana!

The basic idea is that that you play with 9 decks, and every level you draw from a different deck. So as an example at level 1 you draw from a Munchkin Zombies deck and at level 9 you draw from the Star Munchkin deck. You can only level up from cards that are from your current deck. You can use items, curses, and traps(assuming you meet the prerequisites) from any deck at any time however. I'm not sure what the best order for decks would be, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Edit: Just had a brilliant idea, when you die you have to start drawing from the Zombie deck until you gain a level.

A really really specific house rule: You can't mutilate the bodiless!

In other words, You can't play Mutilate the Bodies to go up a level after a combat that involves only The Bodiless (monster from Cthulhu).

This actually happened.

Does The Bodiless Bad Stuff include Death? If it does (or in circumstances where it has been added to its Bad Stuff) I presume you could still use Mutilate the Bodies if The Bodiless wins the combat, as the Munchkns have bodies. ;-)

Ok, here's my house rule:

Often when we play munchkin, one person seems super-unlucky, and will lagg behind (always gets cursed, never faces monsters, no door cards to play etc. etc.).
So what we do is, we allow all munchkins to kick down a door, and if they didn't face a monster, they can look for trouble (ie play a monster from their hand), or kick down another door. However, Epic Munchkins are excluded from this house rule.
We've found that this takes a bit of the 'unfair' randomness out of the game, and makes for a more balanced game overall.
Any thoughts on this are welcome, and thank you all: I picked up some great ideas reading throughout this mother of all threads ;)

I reckon you don't play Star Munchkin, right? That's exactly the Feline Race power.
