I'm sorry about the delivery of an empty box, but glad the company is working things out.

In the past few years, I've had packages taken all the way up my driveway (which is over 100 yards long--I live in the middle of nowhere), then left a foot away from the porch on the dirt. I cannot fathom why someone would come all that way, then not go the additional foot. Especially because sometimes rain is expected, which doesn't mix well with a cardboard box holding paper, electronics, etc.

One time there was a big plastic bag hanging on barbed wire next to the dirt road. I assumed it was trash that had been blown by the wind, and was going to throw it out--until I discovered it held some pens I had ordered. On that delivery, they didn't bother going up the driveway.

And when I do get mail in the mail box, sometimes the mail is quite wet--even though the inside of the box is otherwise completely dry.

(I know, complaints here won't change things--but I've turned in a number of reports to the postal service, delivery companies, and the companies the products were delivering for.)

The biggest problem I've had lately is that both UPS and FedEx have a bad habit of "correcting" my zip+4 and as a result delivering my packages to a town 50 miles away.

So I'm cautiously hopeful the GURPS Girl Genius book will actually get delivered correctly, despite backerkit trying to force that same "correction" on my address. At least it allowed me to insist on as written.
