I think this vulnerability to being bound has been preserved more recently in the limited form that she's as vulnerable as anyone else to her Lasso of Truth.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Hero: Supergirl
Alias: Kara Zor-El, Linda Lang Affiliations: Superman Family Area of Operation: Metropolis When Krypton was destroyed, Kal-El wasn't the only child who was saved. Jor-El's brother sent his teenage daughter as well. The plan was that Kara Zor-El would be there to help raise her young cousin and teach him about his Kryptonian heritage. Things didn't go according to plan. Due to the vagaries of faster than light travel, what was a 30 day trip for Kara (just enough time for her to learn one Earth language), ended up taking almost 30 years longer than Kal-El's journey. She had been 15 years older than Kal El, now she was 15 years younger. The Supergirl of this time is very much still trying to find herself. She wasn't raised on earth, so she struggles with fitting in and with her social skills. When she tries to work with Superman, she finds him to be overprotective, and when she tries to work with Powergirl their powers interfere with each other (not to mention how weirded out Supergirl is by this version of herself as a grown woman). Only Superboy really seems to understand her and he's often busy with Young Justice. For the past year, Kara's been fighting villains and trying to find her place in the world without a secret identity. In order to secure financial independence without putting on a pair of glasses and getting a job, she sold several pieces of Kryptonian technology to Bruce Wayne. Only recently, did Superman's childhood friend Lana Lang convince her that, to find her place among the earthlings, she needed to become one. Once she agreed, Lana Lang introduced her to everyone as her neice, adopted her, and enrolled her in High School in Metropolis. Superman's mentioned getting her a summer internship at the Planet, but she's determined to find her own way in the world. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
I know I'm delving into his Silver Age incarnation here, but Jimmy was known to have a high enough Disguise to pass as a woman several times. To complement this, if going that route, I'd say he had the Passing Complexion Perk, and possibly some Mimicry (Voices) to alter his voice enough to convincingly pass as a woman.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Villain: Metallo
Alias: John Corben Alliances and Affiliations: Lex Luthor Area of Operation: Global, Metropolis John Corben was a mercenary who spent decades fighting in wars for the highest bidder. When that bidder was Lex Luthor and the war was with Superman, he ended up being severely, potentially fatally injured in an explosion. Luthor offered him a chance to live, more powerful than ever, and transplanted his brain into a cyborg body of his own devising. Of course, Luthor didn't explain that Corben would be unable to feel or experience any of the pleasures of the flesh ever again. Now, the only real joy Corben can hope for is to get revenge on the man he believes (thanks in part to Luthor's expert manipulation) to be responsible for his miserable new life: Superman. Corben is perhaps better equipped than anyone to do the job. His cyborg body is powered by a heart of Kryptonite--one of the largest single pieces in existence. By opening a panel in his chest and exposing his heart, he can bathe the surrounding area in Kryptonite radiation. This makes him one of the most dangerous enemies a Kryptonian might face. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
I'm working on Brainiac now, which is easily the most complex build I've been faced with so far.
I was thinking of changing the mythology and world-building around Brainiac--how would you feel if instead of shrinking whole cities and their populations, he uploaded them, destroying them in the process. (Think Destructive Uploading from GURPS Ultra-Tech, but for entire cities.) That way, instead of having Kandor in a bottle, you have a virtual Kandor filled with the Uploaded consciousnesses of all its citizens. It would mark a pretty big departure from canon, but it would also make a whole lot of sense regarding Brainiac and his motivations while also keeping my DCU a little grittier.

The big question that always bugged me was his motivations. Is he a well intentioned extremist misguided in a belief of "saving" the people, a power-hungry tyrant looking to lord over his captive cities, or just a callous collector not caring about the people he captures?

He wants to understand everything in the universe--but because everything in the universe adapts and changes, he has to destroy something as soon as he's fully studied it or his knowledge will someday become obsolete. The "collection" is essentially just a document recording the things he's studied.
