Shouldn't anything along these lines reduce language defaults?

Reducing all defaults by one step seems mechanically easy, and should be worth at least a quirk.

That makes sense.
It's like how horrible I am with accents and needed my GF to translate an England English movie to American English for me. It was apparently easy to understand for her.

Were they speaking upper-crust Oxford English or lower-class Cockney English? The former is easy for most Americans to understand, but Cockney is a dialect all its own at times.
