Age of Apprentices
I can make Dran work by assuming Wizard Apprenticeships start at age 16 and last four years.
This is entirely consistent with current American law and global practice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appren...Apprenticeship This then gives an average career for "full wizards" at Journeyman level and above of thirty years from age 20 to 50. (Some die young, but just as many work for a few more decades, so it balances out. Very very few wizards drink even one Youth potion.) The result is that 93% of adult wizards are dues paying guild members doing something useful with net 105% wizard employment. The biggest gap I can not close at the moment are the wizard nobles who can't exist, because there aren't enough wizards available for this. Ergo I must assume that any spellcasting nobleman is a hero who learned a spell or two and that children who finish wizard training give up their titles.
