Re: Art for games
As long as they are available to the public by internet search, providing the link is perfectly legal.

Re: Art for games
While doing internet research for a Chinese-set game, I found a site that had woodcut prints of the 108 heroes of Liang-Shan-Po.
That takes up quite some space on the old hard-drive, especially when I found the link to the 'Three Kingdoms' computer games and all the hundred or so characters in that. 'Outlaw Star', RF Online', lots of fantasy games. Googling 'character art' works well, as does 'character class'. |

Re: Art for games
Continuing on with William's Ripper's group, the one where Sofia noche/Solana posted above.... here are the remaing 3.

Got two superhe...err... supervillians for y'all. These are from Global Guardians campaign...which is a huge cooperative campaign. And yes, the elephant headed guy is supposed to have a bit of a belly.
And one Legend of the 5 Rings character...a crab raised crane. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35...perorloRes.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35...aneshloRes.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Storn/ReiloRes.jpg These works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

Re: Art for games
This picture was actually kicking my butt for a while (easy target). I do like how it's hard to see who is doing the attacking. Nice, mysterious piece.
I started with it as a fully lit scene, but I couldn't get it exactly right. At one point I deleted all my light sources except for the Lightsabers, and the scene had a really eerie look, so I finally went with the Lightsabers as the only light source and it worked much better. Unfortunately, at 450x600, it doesn't look as good as it does at 768x1024. |

This weekend, I got a chance to play Spirit of the Century. A very, very good pulp game system. As I am wont to do, I doodled while playing. These were all pre-gens, as it was a mini-con here in Ithaca. My character was Kid Shadow. I had a very good time playing. This is going to become our group's stand by game, when not everyone can make it to the table, because it will be a snap to just do an evening with any combo of the pulp characters. Although, we've already done characters for the game, not these depicted. Just haven't drawn them yet. Enjoy. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Storn/SoTCTeam.jpg

Re: Art for games
Well, with the advice of MonkeyFist and Ravengriff (my sister), I wen't back and made some changes. I didn't want to actually add a light, since I like the darkness of the picture. But maybe it's easier to see what's going on now.

Re: Art for games
Here is the character, Rose Westin, with a real light source. She's the poor girl from my previous two posts.
Edit: I fixed her lightsaber (it was too skinny). Last edited by Mark Skarr; 10-12-2006 at 02:33 AM. Reason: Altered the picture |
