I admit, the idea of 'Adventurer's' seems like for (a male adventurer) that 200lbs is scarcely heavy enough

Since 'Adventurer' isn't actually a recognized profession mostly, I admit my general notion is closer to 'Pro Athlete', especially 'Pro MLB athlete', which tend to average heavier than 200lbs

It was also easier to assume the 200 lbs. for the sake of math. So there's that. Mostly, it's so you can just say "Yeah, he's a normal guy, you can use this trait/gear."

That assumes modern professional "enhanced" athletes, not the vast majority of rough and tumble men throughout history. Enhanced by prenatal and postnatal nutrition, prevention of diseases, and dietary hormones without even brining up the ubiquitousness of sketchier supplements.
I doubt than even 1% of ultra fit men globally now are much over 200 lbs, so this all becomes a bit of a comic book male adventurer writ extra large.

I get that. For PCs that want ultra manly men, the more human normal of 150lbs is a bit light, and 175 is probably clunkier of a unit to use.

Nothing to do with that. It literally has to do with the following scenario:

Bob: "I loan my pistol to Mike so he can get to the roof!"
Mike: "Cool!Yeah, I use it. Oh, um, I weigh 180 lbs. can the pistol still support me? I'm not as light as Bob..."
Bob: "I didn't think about that..."
GM: *head-desk*

If you want to argue obesity and builds go start a thread about it. Stop hijacking mine, please.

Mostly, I would just figure as long as someone avoided 'I am not normal size' stuff say it works, whether they considered themselves 4' and 100lbs or 7ft and 400 . . . . . . . the idea that a 6'1" person can be considered the same SM as a ox has always seemed squirrely

So I'd let Jim Thome at 6'3" and 250lbs use the grapple gun without issue, unless he actually bought say Gigantism, if he actually chose the Gigantism trait then I would be finicky about because well, you chose a 'I am bigger than the average bear' trait

Weight in GURPS in general is a bit squirrely, and mostly ignored unless you want to ride a mount

The grapple gun is cool though, I am rather fond of seeing worked examples of metatronic generators, since I periodically want to make more of them myself

The Hurt Locker: Spoiled and Rurnt

I ponder the idea of batteries and ammo going bad after the apocalypse.

GURPS101: Powers Negation and Mimicry

I breakdown Neutralize a bit and talk about how to make power mimics/vampires.
