Default Gurps 3ed rev

Anyone still playing Gurps 3ed rev or has everyone gotten on the 4e bandwagon?

I'm still playing it (with a few house rules).

There are some of us grognards around who don't much care for many of the 4e changes.

About the only things I've imported from 4e are the new attribute prices and the signature gear advantage.

I imported Hamhanded disadvantage, Form Mastery, Weapon A to Weapon B, and a few other things.

It's not that I don't like 4e, (though I do have a gripe with glossy pages) it's that...well 3e is cheaper, and I want people to play with me, ;-;

Also, I actually bought 3 4e books from a store a while ago that was closing and Characters fell apart when I got home. I sent an email, and even a few pictures as proof and I still haven't gotten an answer. *shrug*

That is how I feel I don't have $30 a book budget to dump down when the books I have work perfectly fine as is. I would have responded sooner but I have been busy

I use a hybrid abomination built on the 3e core, with 4e stuff (especially from Powers) extending it, and all of it torn apart and rebuilt according to our GURPS 2.0 houserules, for added depth and easy access.

It is beautiful. And now, I await the lightning that will BRING MY CREATION TO LIFE!!!

I have enough RPG books as it is and don't really need another
bookshelf full of them.

PDFs are nice, some are very enticing, much more so than plunking
down $ for a big hardback.

It's very hard to find GURPS players anyway, so, I'm not worried
about being left behind or anything.

I liked 3e, I noticed 4e has gone to simplification and since I don't
need more RPG books, I'll make do with what I have. If there was
a need to play on the "bleeding edge" then I'd be there.

3rd. Three reasons:

All my campaigns and those of the others I game with were made with 3rd.

We use so little of the rules beyond character creation and very basic combat that it hardly matters.

I use worlds I create myself that go by 'cinematic conventions' or 'TV reality', so; 'rule of cool' supercedes realism in most cases.

Reasons I buy the 4th books:

I like the 4th books expansion of and additions to ads, disads and skills, plus perks, signature gear, etc. and may use them in future games.

Some of the advice on game-running, world-building and choices in character creation are relevant.

Who did you send an email to?

IMO 4e is far better than 3e, that is, it is more streamlined. But horses for courses as they say...

Check this out. From what I've heard, SJGames will make good.
