Can rel=nofollow be added to all urls?
It's a standard anti-link-spam measure, and doesn't seem to currently be applied.

In a perfect world, one could make all links nofollow by default and have them become "real" links after being vetted in some way (e.g., by surviving the next work day in Austin). Too much trouble, though, I think. Regards Ts |

Re: Can rel=nofollow be added to all urls?
At this time, we are not discussing "rel=nofollow" because, as the previous commenter pointed out, that would devalue the forums from a search perspective.
I know they're researching the spam issue, though! - M

Also, perhaps most important, doing that wouldn't faze the spammers because they likely wouldn't even notice. They don't bother checking stuff like that. It's not worth their time. They just set up bots to spam spam spam like crazy, on thousands of forums. Some will help their hits, some won't. They don't care. It's about volume.
