Re: About a disposable amors
It's certainly weakened, at least in the immediate area of the damage, and if some fibers have been broken I would expect gradual unraveling, like any other cloth, but I suspect replacing it is mostly being careful. A vest that saves you from death or serious injury once has more than paid for itself.

Re: About a disposable amors
Many organizations have minimum standards that vastly exceed "good enough" for legal or cultural reasons. This often results decently high quality second hand goods being available, a helmet or vest with a hole in it is still effective everywhere else and plenty good for a lot of poorer armies.
Has anyone tried using Malfunction rolls to represent loss of protection in specific areas but full protection in others?

Re: About a disposable amors
Every hit that does over DR/2 damage reduces the "chinks" penalty for that body part by 1.
If the chinks penalty (CP) is -5 or less, a non chinks hit has a (6+CP)/6 chance of hitting chinks on any hit. |
