Brave [1]
For his signature gear, I would like him to have an assortment of spears/staffs for different monsters (silver, cold iron, holy, etc) including one particularly nice one that is disguised, like a sword cane but a spear staff instead.

EDIT: I notice that Michael Thanye's character duplicates some of the social engineering capabilities of my character. I could rework mine a little towards the knowledgeable hunter angle if we think that is advisable.

Personally, I don't think a little overlap is a bad thing, it's bound to happen for the secondary stuff.

I would like to recommend that if one of you switches, someone take advantage of the Lore! Wildcard... we should have at least one character in the group with it, and both of your characters have impressive IQs!

Toptomcat: I don't mind if someone else has a Style! for that matter, my concern is having multiple Style! using Monsters from Asia et all... it does remain to be seen if the hopping vampire turns out, I may forgo the monster part. But you are right, I've been trying to get a Style! in a MH Game for quite some time now!

Lore! Would certainly be appropriate for my character. I'll probably drop Empathy if I do that.

You already save [8] from Occultism and Hidden Lore specialties... If you drop Empathy, you could always use Sensitive instead.

It actually replaces Research and Exorcism also, so if ericthered allows it I break even. I'll probably still drop Empathy but I'll put those points into beefing up his other talents a bit.

Templates are not required, merely excellent starting points, and examples of the kind of balance you should have.

Ransom, Lore! and sensative are fine.

Skull crusher, you need a story for your character. Is he the result of a lab or a wizardly group?

As far as secrete organizations go, the situation is so: there are no dominating organizations. Secrete societies are a dime a dozen though: most immortals head one and Wizards seem to form them spontaneously. The government does not create any (though it may be infiltrated by some and the Vatican may or may not be an exception). Within that scope, feel free to play around and build your group: its makeup, Its purpose, Its motives, its location, and its modus operandi.

Matrix walker, could I get an explaination on this perk?
Sacrificial Parry (Style!) [1]

Also, what do you have in mind for the organization he belongs to? who runs it, and what are their motives? How are they funded, and how big is it? Just from the name, I'd guess its a fairly loose self-funded organization of vigilantes who strike against monsters who get particularly out of hand, or perhaps they particularly oppose the influence of the immortals as a matter of principle. If so, it would certainly explain why he has monster of the week: being a member of such an order puts a bullseye on your chest. If you want more cash and less of a support network we can say there are several wealthy individuals who fund it, from grateful men saved from aweful fates to corporations who are rivals with an immortal the organization is working for. Tweak to taste. It should either be local in scope or scattered in distribution.

He was created in a lab. His patron is a group made up of scientists and businessmen whose lives were all affected by supernatural events in a bad way. They pooled thier resources to create a force to combat the evil forces of the supernatural. Randal was an ex-Soldier whose family was killed by Fae and volunteered to be the one who went through the tranformation.
