Default Low Tech vs Basic Set Armor

Could someone please explain to me how the armor tables given in Low Tech relate to the ones on pages 283ff in the Basic Set?

Specifically, does Low Tech override the information in Basic, meaning you have to chose which system you are going to use?

If so, has anybody rebuilt the tables from basic using the new formulas in Low Tech?

More or less, yes. They can be used side-by-side but they don't "play well" together.

I've been considering building sets of pre-made armor suits for my Dungeon Fantasy game just to speed up character creation. At this point, though, it's on the back burner mostly because I enjoy letting my players have customization.

Someone already did that here, if it helps.

I think I remember that, actually. I might work up my own version, too, that suits my setting's assumptions a bit better.
