Default It has arrived!!

Howdy!

I have been like this the past 9 day's http://abstrusegoose.com/315 and now MQ has finally arrived. But it came on the worst time ever, or I ordered it on the worst time ever exams and stuff. But I was wondering how essential is MQ2. Thinking of giving me it for xmas, what do you guy's think?

Technically MQ2 is not essential unless you want five and six player support. Munchkin Quest is fine on it's own.

However, MQ2 is a fantastic addition. The traps and junky passageways are cool, and the etxra rooms and monsters make for better variety. If you like the game a lot and/or play it with any kind of frequency, I recommend the expansion.

On another note, I would also recommend Portal Kombat, which is brilliant IMO and a smaller financial investment.

As nice as it is to have those things, it better to get an understanding of the core game before adding expansions. I'm not trying to convince you to not buy them (by all means, buy 12 of everything if you must), but I would warn against buying everything "all at once" and then trying to play the game with everything for the first time rather than getting a few games under your belt with only the core game.

And to be clear, if you want to buy everything all at once, please do. 12 times, if you must. ;-)

That's a good idea ... I might need a bigger boat though ...

Well, fortunately MQ 2 doesn't add too much complexity to the game. But a game with 5 or 6 new players will probably be very slow for the first times. But the foruns has quite a few optional rules for speeding the game up, you may find those useful.

Yeah, I would not suggest a large game for your first time.
