Curse! One Hand Tied Behind Your Back!
One of the players at our gaming table had the Cross Bow in play. He was hit with: Curse! One Hand Tied Behind Your Back!
His response was to place the Cross bow, he had in play, in his pack. then attempt to replace it with a one-handed item, the name I can not remember. Speaking only for myself, I suggested that he was not able to replace the Cross Bow. For the moment it was held useless in one hand, because you can not change items during combat. As a result of the conversation at the table. The combat continued with him not benefiting from the Cross Bow, or the item he tried to put in its place. Should he have been able to make the switch? Or, was his loss of benefits from either item the correct decision? If you think you need more let me know I will hep where I can. Cheers!! |

Re: Curse! One Hand Tied Behind Your Back!
You're correct. If he got hit with this Curse during combat, he wouldn't be able to bring a different "hand" item out of his pack to use during the combat.

Re: Curse! One Hand Tied Behind Your Back!
On page 5 of the rules (with some added emphasis, here and there):
At any time, except during combat, you can:
One Hand Tied Behind Your Back provides no loophole for getting around these rules, so the correct decision is that the Cross Bow is now useless, and the player can not play any Item cards to replace it nor can he put something in his pack. Just because he was using a 2 Hand weapon at the time he was hit with the curse does not override the rules on what you can do during combat, on your turn or not. |
