Default Healing powers and skills

I'm trying to create a healer type character using the Powers rules, and was wondering if anyone had any sensible advice on how to combine the medical skills with the Healing advantage? I want Healing to represent the ability to repair damaged tissue, etc. magically, but users still need to have some medical training to know what it should look like in the first place

Would replacing the IQ roll with a First Aid/Physician/Surgery roll - depending on type of injury/disease - be balanced? Another thing I've considered is for internal injuries/disease, the user should make a Diagnosis roll first and then add the margin of failure/success onto the healing roll.

Also I'm considering giving the user Penetrating Vision (Organic) to allow the character to get a bonus to Diagnosis rolls? What I really wanted to do was recreate the Body-Reading spell from Magic as a touch ability, but have no idea how to get that to work! (Scanning Sense -Para Radar with Bio Scan seems the closest but is waaaaayyy too powerful given the other stuff that it gives!) Any better ideas?

It is a 0% feature to change an IQ roll into a skill roll. as per "Skills for everyone"

That's not quite right. It's a 0-point feature to change all the stat-rolls in an entire Power into skill rolls.

It's probably a perk to change a stat roll into a skill roll without doing the same with the rest of your power abilities, though, because that gives a higher default for the abilities you don't specialize in (the benefit of stat-based) and a higher total for those you do specialize in (the benefit of skill-based.)

For just one special ability it's roughly balanced either way, though.

pp. 161-162, maybe? You could also decree that the effective skill of Healing cannot exceed the Physician skill, say. (Or Diagnosis, or First Aid...)
