Default Cleric's Resurrection Ability

Just so everyone knows what is on the table, I will copypasta the text from the Cleric's Resurrection ability here:

Mod: Do not quote card text.

The word "appropriate" -- what exactly does it mean in this case?

Does it mean that if I were to take from the door discard pile, that I then have to discard a door card from my hand? Or does it mean that, when it is time for me to kick down the door, I can only take from the door discard pile? Or perhaps it means both?

(From original post, just in case: Sorry again if this question is incomprehensible. If there is any uncertainty behind what I mean, please let me know and I will try to clarify as much as I can.)

It's this one. Appropriate refers to the discard pile that matches the card you are (were) about to draw, face-up.
