Re: [High-Tech, Ultra-Tech] Targeting systems questions
Vehicles Expansion 2? This all sounds like the kind of thing I am looking for.
Another purchase may be in my near future... |

Re: [High-Tech, Ultra-Tech] Targeting systems questions
Actually, I just meant Vehicles 2nd Edition (which was written for GURPS 3rd Edition). Chapter 13 is dedicated to Sighting and Detection. It's possible I mixed up my abbreviations though.

.http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/abbrevs.html The whole "standard abbreviations" thing for 3e did end up being quite complex. I can see why it was not carried over into 4e.

Re: [High-Tech, Ultra-Tech] Targeting systems questions
Re: "Lock-ons" for a +3 - There has been an assumption that this applies only to Active systems. However Hydrophones (UT p. 62), a passive system, also gives the +3 for an Aim action. It is the only one passive system that I know of that does so but that may open the door to allowing other sensors to qualify for the bonus if they can correctly model the vector, id etc of the target.
