Crippling/Dismembering a Finger
Does anyone know how much damage it would take to cripple or dismember a finger or toe? I don't recall reading that bit of nastiness anywhere.

Re: Crippling/Dismembering a Finger
It's probably just 1 HP to cripple for an average human, realistically-speaking. Anything over 1/10 HP for large creatures if it matters, doubled to dismember. Any injury real enough to matter in GURPS will disable a finger or toe; I've broken a toe too many times to count just by being a drunk who hates wearing shoes.

Re: Crippling/Dismembering a Finger
But if it takes 2 points to destroy an eye, shouldn't it take as much to cripple a bony finger?
I can see arguments for both sides.

"More than HP/10" handles both the same way "More than HP/3" or "More than HP/2" cripples hands and limbs, I think.

Re: Crippling/Dismembering a Finger
If we take the same 'over 1/10HP', that's 2 damage to cripple finger, 4 to dismember it. Is that realistic?

Cutting a tendon is sufficient to permanently cripple a finger.

And severing the brachial nerve will cripple an arm. Your point?

Re: Crippling/Dismembering a Finger
At the very least it should take more damage to cripple a finger than it does for an eye. That leaves the minimum of 2 points. If 2 is too few, and 4 too many, that just leaves us with 3, right?
