Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
Just added a data file with the beginning of a data file for Dungeon Fantasy 11 Power-Ups.
All perks and quirks added so far. Filenames have "Kingmaker_" prepended as I do that for files I use in my campaign. But, should work for anyone. http://www.motoslave.net/gcarepo/view.php?pkgid=110 /Jonas Last edited by jonask; 04-07-2012 at 11:31 AM. |

Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
jonask, I found a few issues in a couple of the data files you posted recently.
[Kingmaker_Dungeon_Fantasy_11_Power_Ups.gdf] 7: error: missing opening double quote in Requires on 'GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 3 - Next Level.gdf"' 84: warning: unquoted name & name extension components contains comma 255: warning: perks trait "Background Knowledge (Elemental Realms)" does not contain a cost 323: error: missing closing parenthesis on name extension component 323: warning: unquoted name & name extension components contains comma 375: warning: unquoted name component contains commas [Kingmaker_Remove_Unncessary_Spells_From_Group.gdf] *: error: file is marked as encoded in UTF-8, but is not *: error: missing section header for data, entire contents dumped into [AUTHOR] section 124: looks like a left-over #ReplaceTags command

Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
I just added a (real simple) file to the repository:
http://www.motoslave.net/gcarepo/view.php?pkgid=114 It removes all basic set armor and shields, handy if you prefer to use Gurps Low Tech. /Jonas |

Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
jonask. Your latest data file is a bit hosed and you seem to have clobbered your remove unnecessary spells one. I sent you a PM with more details.

(Note to self: Don't use Notepad++. Also, don't do stuff late at night. <Looks at watch> Um, once it's past midnight, surely that counts at 'early morning' rather than 'late at night', right? :) |

Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
??? Not only to I use Notepad++ for all my GDF editing, I rather like it. I'm curious what you did that caused problems (aside from the late night work - I've recognized that I can't do anything beyond rudimentary data entry past a certain point at night)

Anyway, I just (re)found and applied a Notepad++ setting which ought to help (Settings/Preferences/New Document and set encoding to UTF-8 without BOM and check 'Apply to opened ANSI files'.) Guess I used to have it set on my old computer, but forgot about it when I switched to my new one. /Jonas |

Re: The GCA Repository (GCA file archive)
Also, of note. When opening an existing file, Notepad++ does not scan the entire file when it tries to auto-detect the encoding, rather it only checks the first X number of bytes (I don't recall how many). So, if a UTF-8 encoded file contains no extended characters within that window, Notepad++ will assume that it's ASCII instead, with horrific results for any encoded characters later on in the file. This came up during the initial testing of the UTF-8 stuff in GCA. My advice now, as then, is to ensure that you have extended characters somewhere within the header and/or author section; the copyright and registered trademark symbols are a good fit for this.
