Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Hero: Nightwing
Alias: Richard "Dick" Grayson, formerly Robin. Team Affiliation: The Bat-Family, The Teen Titans, The Titans. Dick Grayson was raised in the circus. When his parents were murdered by mafia boss Tony Zucco, Bruce Wayne took him in. Soon there after, Batman began to train Dick Grayson to be his side-kick and partner. He was the first Robin and served in that capacity for several years. However, he gradually came to resent taking orders from the older hero. After a mysterious disagreement, Grayson left Gotham for the nearby city of Bludhaven and retired his Robin identity to become Nightwing. Since then, Bruce and Dick have mended fences, and are starting to rebuild their friendship. Nightwing will, once again, come help when Batman needs him, but he's in no hurry to give up his new found autonomy completely. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Supporting Character: Alfred Pennyworth
Alias: None. Group Affiliations: The Bat-Family Alfred Pennyworth has been many things. He had an illustrious early career on the London stage, served as a combat medic, and followed this with a second career as a covert agent for MI-6. When he left England to take on a position as butler to the Wayne family, he thought he was retiring to relative ease and safety. This has not been the case. Alfred is the closest thing Batman has to a father, and works tirelessly to help his master's quest to rid Gotham of the Criminal element. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Wow, I have a lot of comments to respond to. I'll try to keep this brief.

Also, there's a part of me that thinks 35 points spent on Corporate Rank is a complete waste in a Super-Hero campaign. Quote:
And, since he has been known to summon up the will to perform nearly super-human feats of strength, I think Power Blow isn't out of the question. Quote:
And I did warn you that this was going to be a powered down version of the DCU :) Quote:
I'll be revising my version of Batman in the next couple of days in light of all of your comments. I'll let you know when the new versions up. In the mean time, what do you think of Nightwing and Alfred?

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Super-Team: The Bat-Family
Made up of Batman and his current and former side-kicks, the Bat-Family isn't a formal super-team. They don't have meetings or bylaws, they just know how to work together and are willing to help out when possible. Each of the core members are people Batman would trust with his life. Current Membership:Batman, Batgirl (Cassandra Cain), Nightwing, Oracle, Robin (Tim Drake). Allies, Affiliates, and Support:Alfred Pennyworth, Batwoman (Kate Kane), Black Canary, Catwoman, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Harvey Bullock, Huntress, James Gordon, Flamebird, The Question (Renee Montoya), Spoiler. Area of Operation:Gotham City, with occasional special circumstances requiring global operations.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Main thing is you posted Alfred twice. He seems good but I don't know him so well.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Oops! Okay, I fixed it, Nightwing's up. Of course now, if I make Bruce stronger it will make sense to make Nightwing stronger as well. But I can make those adjustments as I go.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Quote:
He can have up to 36 points in any Advantages built with gadget limitations at a time. He can use those as much and as often as he wants. When he wants to change those points around he needs to spend a day in the bat-cave tinkering. So you could have him walking around with Infrared Vision contacts in his visor, a cloak that can stiffen into a glider, and a supply of exploding batarangs, no problem. He can use them as much as he wants. But then, if he knows he's going up against White Martians, he can trade it all in for a wrist mounted flame thrower system. Batman from the comics (especially comics he shares with empowered heroes like the JLA) probably has a lot more points in Modular Gadgets than this version, but I prefer my Bat-Family to be street-level heroes so I kept it toned down.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
My new Batman is up. Stronger, richer, hardier, 100 points more expensive.

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
Hero: Robin
Alias: Tim Drake, Red Robin Group Affiliations: Bat-Family, Teen Titans, Young Justice. Robin is 3rd to bear that name, after Dick Grayson's retirement and Jason Todd's murder at the hands of the Joker. Drake earned his position by figuring out Batman and Nightwing's secret identity's at the age of nine. Robin isn't as prodigious an unarmed fighter as Batgirl, nor as agile and athletic as Nightwing, but he makes up for it by being a naturally gifted detective, almost as savy as Batman himself. He's also one of the most skilled staff fighters in the DCU, having been taught by Lady Shiva to pay off a debt. As of now, Tim Drake's father Jack is still alive and Tim has not been officially adopted by Bruce Wayne. When that happens his point total will go way up with the influx of wealth and status. Quote:

Re: [SUPERS] My Unofficial Handbook to the DC Universe
One question: Is Stephanie Brown (Spoiler, the 4th Robin, the pre-"New 52" Batgirl) considered alive or dead at this time? If alive, will you be making stats for her? (The only hero she can rely on for aid is Robin, and he can count on her assistance as well).
Also, Nightwing can count on assistance from any incarnation of the Titans*, but especially from Donna Troy (Troia, the original Wonder Girl), Wally West (Flash, the former Kid Flash), Koriand'r (Starfire), and Bette Kane (Flamebird); the first two have been counted as "best friends" of Dick's since he became Robin, Kori is a former lover of his from their New Teen Titans/New Titans days, and Flamebird got into the business to be near Dick when he was Robin (actually, that was a retcon due to Bette Kane originally being Betty Kane/Bat-Girl). These should count as Allies as well, and an Ally Group for whichever incarnation of the Titans is active. * Titans incarnations: original Teen Titans, second Teen Titans, Titans West, New Teen Titans, New Titans, the time-traveling Team Titans, Arsenal's government-sponsored Titans, Atom's Teen Titans, the Titans, and the California-based Teen Titans. I have the feeling this is the era of either the Titans (original 5 plus some proteges) or the Cali-based Teen Titans.
